Every business uses/needs part numbers - what they do not always do is to control the operational and costed effects of a part number change. Part Numbers change due to three drivers: *Management dictat - performance cost reduction NPI *Supply Chain request *Customer feedback from in-service. If changes to part numbers are not controlled via an effect 'Product Change' system to allow cost control (predictive and actual), businesses see the result in direct stock loss and effects on P & L account. There are also direct implications on product liability and traceability which if it goes wrong, can close a business. Email me to ask for a business review and how we can tailor make training and write bespoke procedures to suit any specifc business. DON'T CHANGE WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING!
