An ex design director once said to me, that at this time of year, we should be pushing our clients to promote their services and products to their customers. Why.. (as a wet behind the ears designer, I enquired? ) Because when everyone else is holding onto their design, branding and marketing budgets, our clients have a greater opportunity to grab a share of the market, that their competition is letting go dormant. In other words young Neil... Take advantage of your competitors complacency, the opportunity to gain more customers increases greatly.

This was one of the most valuable lessons I ever learned in the 25 years I have been a creative, and is a strategy I have used ever since. Keeping relevant and in front of your customers is key to gaining and strengthening your market share. Before we do anything at T2, we always assess what the main strengths of our customers are. This might only be their price... but if it is, we build a strategy around that firstly. Negatively, it might be that their product or service is not getting in front of the right people, because our clients think it should be going to market via say.. their website, well if all their competitors are doing that, it may not be the best route!

Ultimately our approach to deisgn, branding and marketing is knowing our clients customers firstly... what our clients think we should do, is not necessarily what is correct. Its also not necessarily the right time of year!
