GTES stands for Global Talent Employer Sponsored. In the late 2019, the Australian Government introduced GTES program, that offers a simplified visa pathway to the skilled professionals who’re talented and want to work and earn their living in Australia on a permanent basis.

The main motive behind this program was to steal the spotlight of those individuals and businesses and bring out their hidden talent. With this program, the Australian Government wants to bring the best talent from around the globe so that they can create a plethora of opportunities for the Australians.

This can be done by transferring skills, bringing innovation in the processes and in turn creating ample number of job opportunities. So, if you’re a skilled professional, who want to work and settle in Australia permanently, can apply under this visa i.e. The Global Talent Visa.

If you want to apply under the Global Talent Visa, you need to be skilled and proficient in at least one of the seven targeted sectors. Moreover, you should be able to command a salary that meets the high-income threshold or you should be a candidate with a master’s or a doctorate degree, that too highly graded.

The targeted sectors include:

  • Quantum Information, Advanced Digital, Data Science and ICT
  • AgTech
  • Advanced Manufacturing and Space
  • Cyber Security
  • Fintech
  • Energy and Mining Technology
  • MedTech

 The Expected Salary Range

You should have the ability to get a salary at or above the Fair Work High Income Threshold (FWHIT), that is AUD 148,700 currently. Moreover, this figure gets changed annually on July 1st.

Now, the things that department will consider to check that you have the ability to meet the required standards or not.

  • Through payslips or the contract of the Current salary that you’re getting
  • Any Future Job Offers you’re having
  • Have a look at the recent PhD or Master’s degree in the target sectors that you’re having

 Apply for the Global Talent Visa Carefully

If you want to apply for this visa, you need to be endorsed or sponsored by a nominator who has the same reputation as you have or either is a,

  • An Australian Organization
  • An Eligible Citizen of New Zealand
  • An Eligible Citizen of Australia or a Permanent Resident

Before You Lodge Your Application for the Australia’s Global Talent Visa, certain things are there to keep in Mind such as:

Prior to lodging your application for the Australia’s Global Talent Visa, make sure that you choose the right visa sub class, other wise your application will not be valid, and ultimately will get repudiated.

If you’re outside Australia at the time of applying for the visa, lodge a Sub Class 124 distinguished Talent Visa

On the other hand, if you’re within the Australian Boundaries at the time of applying for the visa, lodge a Sub Class 858 distinguished Talent Visa.
