7 Tips For A Stylish Office Desk Setup

Your desk space is more than a space to work and complete daily routines. It is your perfect space to stir creativity and showcase your organizational style and preferences. Whether you are typing, drawing designs, or creating financial statements, your desk setup is important in ensuring you accomplish the task.

The priority should be ensuring you have the most organized space. Ideally, the organization and setup must embrace and support a culture that makes your work enjoyable by limiting stress and organizational challenges. Whether you work remotely or in the office, the desk setup should be perfect for long hours without distractions.

Designing the setup is more than creating a functional space. For beginners, the setup must meet any or all these: minimal, ambient, workflow-oriented design and thoughtfulness. Therefore, everything should be perfect and rightfully selected or curated for the space.

This task seems cumbersome, but it would be simple if you had some guidelines and a helping hand. In this article, we explore seven ways to elevate your desk setup and create that workspace you desire so much.

1. Invest in an L-shaped desk With Charging Ports and Cabinets

The best office should be minimal and very functional, enabling you to have limited resources around the existing space. You can achieve this by relying on techniques like creative shelving. However, an L-chape office desk setup is the best option, especially for a limited space with more items.

It is better to get an L-shaped office desk with more cabinet space, enabling you to store all your resources. You can use the other existing top surfaces for other resources like trays. The surface is large enough to provide extra space for everything, including printers or monitors. You can operate all the gadgets from one space.

Better still, it also includes charging ports; hence, you do not need extensions and cables lying all over the floor. All you need is one extension beneath the table, and then you plug in all the items. Select one that complements the office color and design pattern for better organization and finishes.

2. Consider Creative Storage Solutions

You should consider creative storage solutions if you have more items that need extra space besides what the office desk offers. They should be simple, large enough to store all your accessories, and not too big to crowd the room. Instead of the bulky top-bottom shelves, you can consider

  • Floating shelves: You can install them on the walls or above the desk, enabling you to leave more room below for other needs, like movement, and allow light penetration.
  • Drawer organizers: You can add drawers to your desk to store smaller items like notebooks, pins, and pens.
  • Stylish bins: These box bins help store bulky or rarely accessed files. They can be stored beneath the desk. A stylish chair is necessary to complete your setup and create the perfect sitting position, especially if you are involved in long-hour shifts or work late at night. There are many options; however, the one you choose must provide lumbar support, a comfortable sitting cushion, and be adjustable in various positions for upright posture or backrests during breaks.

3. Embrace Ergonomic Chairs

Also, consider the material that perfectly complements your desk. Leather seats are best due to durability. You can also shop for other affordable yet comfortable chairs made of lasting and ergonomic materials. The decision is up to you. Regardless of your choice, comfort and economic support should be a priority

4. Add Some Greenery

Working can be stressful; hence, you need some simple items to help reduce the stress. One of them is a pot of plants on your table or at the further edge of the desk. If not, you can have some flowers on the desk.

They make the desk look brighter, presentable, and inviting. However, the most significant benefit is to you. The effects of the scent and air quality regulation can help you work without much stress. However, not every plant is suitable for desk setup. Ideally, it should be simple, bright, and not very conspicuous.

5. Add Some Personal Touch

Your desk should reflect who you are. To achieve that, you can add more personal items to the space. To begin with, you can add a simple picture of you or your family that is well-framed and placed closer to your laptop or monitor. If not, you can add a small piece of art that empowers or motivates you.

If you value working in a fresh environment, a minimalist diffuser with essential oil is necessary. Ensure the diffuser is cute and small enough not to leave an ugly impression on the desk space. You can also have a hand-held fan.

6. Integrate Smart Lighting

Smart or perfect desk lighting is necessary if you work early or late. If you dislike room lighting, you must have surface lighting on the desk. Lucky for you, there are many solutions to consider:

  • A strip light on your desk can help you light the spaces below or around the table. You can best use them to create a surrounding ambiance and lighting style.
  • For the top table, you can opt for a smart lighting design that focuses the light on the keyboard and perhaps areas around your eyes. One solution is the edge lighting strips installed on the monitor.
  • You can also opt for lamps on your table. A good lamp adds some swagger and helps you regulate the amount of lighting in your workspace.

7. Make The Desk Space Clean

Too many cables around or on the table create a messy impression and show signs of disorganization. That is why you need tables with charging ports to reduce the number of cables. Alternatively, you can install a cable management system right below the tabletop.

Another option is to buy wireless devices, eliminating the reliance on interconnectivity cables. You can also buy devices with stands, like monitors. You can store items like pins or USB cables in the space below.

Final Thoughts

Remember that the desk setup should be the perfect space in which you wish to work. Therefore, it should reflect your preferences, be suitable for the job, and integrate some elements that boost your productivity. Besides the basics, like the type of desk, chair, and storage solution, you can also incorporate other creative essentials. This includes the type of lighting, space utilization resources, organization accessories, and other items to help you reduce stress. With all that, you can work longer hours without experiencing frequent burnout.
