THE FRAME OF MIND FOR JOB INTERVIEWS.

THE FRAME OF MIND FOR JOB INTERVIEWS.

If you are preparing for a job interview reflect on the following.

In your professional life you've probably met dozens of other professionals for business meetings.

You've met online; you've met face-to-face; you've met at your offices; at their offices; perhaps on neutral ground at conferences; even motorway service areas.

Prior to the meeting there was a pre-agreed agenda.

At the meeting you approached the other person eye to eye, one professional to another irrespective of whether their job title was notionally above or below yours: it was just one professional to another.

Approach interviews in the same frame of mind, not as a supplicant, "Please give me a job" but as one professional to another.

But there's one other super-critical point to remember - the agenda item is NOT you, it's the job description!

They want it 'filling' and it's your job to let them know that you are good at 'filling'.
