Comfort and Consumption – The Twin thieves of Happiness[1]
We tend to perceive happiness through the desire of possessing an item, a person or power. If it does not materialise in our life we are not happy at all. Our sense of existence is simply miserable!!!
Both thieves always conditioning “if or when I will have/buy/possess a certain material thing I will be happy”. Consumption stirs up our self-esteem. Messing up our self-esteem leads us to the comfort destination, once reached we don’t want to leave it. It feels right on so many levels. Compromising would make us feel that our harmonious comfort is under a direct threat. We can’t see the damage which is already done by those two thieves. We notice however that our happiness is in danger!
Here is the news of the day – You can be happy, stress less and content with less than you think. You can free yourself from the illusion of safety created by programmed scenarios you copied from your role models. You can create your own unconditional mindset. Most importantly, you can say goodbye to the destructing twins!
