Setting the scene for a better Christmas party…

This is my favourite time of year and here at Quest, we’re looking forward to celebrating in a few weeks.

The annual Christmas parties have begun and teams are organising their boozy get togethers. Although this is a fun time of year, we should also consider how this can lead to inappropriate behaviour and what we can do prevent any mishaps.

Below are some tips to help you through the festive season with no hiccups.

  • You may want to issue a brief reminder to staff prior to party season of the expected standards at events.
  • Offering a free bar may sound like a good idea but proceed with caution. Think about limiting what’s on offer & how much. It’s also important to ensure that staff don’t feel pressured into drinking.
  • Everyone has instant access to cameras, so what happens on a work’s do almost never stays on a work’s do. Having a clear-cut social media policy can help monitor employee’s conduct online, especially when alcohol is involved.
  • Lastly, enjoy! Have fun at your events but do remember to be safe.
