Sutherland House, originally built in 1951 for Britain's Toys, stands as a historical landmark in Walthamstow. Renowned for producing lead model soldiers and farm and village sets, Britain's Toys contributed significantly to both local history and the toy industry at large. The site was pivotal during the World Wars, notably producing shrapnel balls in WWI and shifting to plastic production post-WWII. It provided employment for over 750 local residents and an additional 3,000 home workers.
