Thousands of personal injury claims are filed every year in UK by people who become victim of an accidents caused by other’s negligence. Personal injury is defined as an injury incurred to one’s mind or emotions and body. It has been seen that still there are some people who are not completely aware of a personal injury lawsuit. So in this article, I would like to share my insight into this lawsuit.

Personal injuries are only subjected to compensation if they occur due to other’s negligence. These can be categorized into several types namely;

1. Physical Injury

If the victim suffers from any bodily injury due to others negligence then it is subjected to file these claims. This will include all types of illness, disability or other physical damage.

2. Financial Injury

Any financial damage also includes under personal injury category. If you lose your income due to some inability then also it will count under these injuries. Even if people face any threat to his/her financial stability or any damage occurs to his/her property then it will consider as financial injury.

3. Injury to reputation

Any act of aspersion that can affect one’s reputation also liable to file personal injury claim against accused.

4. Intentional Injury

If any person caused any damage to your property or to you intentionally then also it is a wrongful act that will count under personal injury lawsuit.

This is all about types of personal injuries that are subjected to these claims. Even there are also some types of accidents that are observed under a personal injury lawsuit:

  • Street accidents
  • Accidents at work
  • Accidents at home
  • Product defects
  • Holiday accidents
  • Slipping and tripping accidents

It has been observed that not all Personal injury claims cases receive compensation. Some of these cases get dismissed because of lack of evidence. There are several factors and points that need to be taken care of while filing the claim to enhance their winning possibility.

After an accident, if you suffer from any bodily injury or concussion then immediately consult a licensed doctor to avoid any severe damage.

Once you get better or recovered form your injuries then try to contact the eyewitnesses of an accident as soon as possible. Try to obtain their written statement for the records.

Keep safe all your medical records as it serves as primary evidence and will decide the amount of compensation.
