Below is a small exert from our course.
The ability to stay focused and overcome anything that may try and stop you achieving your goal or mission. Whatever happens, refuse to lose. Always approach with the attitude "I can do this" If someone says to you "It can't be done" find a way to get it done.Don't let anyone or anything break you.
As long as I am alive and breathing and my brain is functioning, I have the ability to do any task given to me.
Mental toughness is in reality the ability to exert control of your mind, over your thoughts, your actions, your decisions and yourself. Controlling your mind will enable you to keep your sights on your goals, as opposed to obstacles stopping you from achieving.
Mental toughness is developed by "small victories" day by day. Take specific actions in a measured way, for example, develop a routine and stay with it. This way small victories don't feel like large tasks, but when you add them all together they achieve the large task.
PTSD can develop in response to exposure to a stressful or traumatic event, or an exceptionally threatening situation. Examples can include rape, violent attack, sudden destruction of home or community, or harm to close relatives or friends.
However, if these difficulties are severe and enduring and impact negatively on someone’s ability to live life to the fullest, then this may be indicative of PTSD.
