When care work becomes a passion
People choose their careers for various reasons: To follow the footstep of someone who had an impact on us, to fulfil a dream, make a parent or a family member proud of us or for other reasons.
I see my reason as unique as my choice of career was led by a personal and emotional experience since my young age.
In the latter stage of her life, my mother had to rely on the care of family members. They had to do everything for her from the time she woke up till the time she went to bed and this till the last moments of her life. The dedication and altruism of those family members caring for her had an incredible impact on me despite my young age. I am from a very large family where the sense of belonging to the family is stronger than anything. Therefore, taking care of a member in the family is a collective duty for the whole large family and what I witnessed with my mother’s care was just a clear illustration of that. From that experience, caring for someone became the most enjoyable of all activities for me and I decided to make it my career path
After working several years as a carer in various positions, I decided to establish my own care agency and named it after my mother KARIA CARE SERVICES, not only to honour her but to also pay tribute to those brave family members who were taking care of my mother round the clock with the highest level of dedication. The burden of taking care of her could never take away from them their smile and enthusiasm and I made my mission to create that spirit at KARIA CARE SERVICES
At KARIA CARE SERVICES we strive to recruit carers who share our philosophy of being passionate about taking care of our service users. I personally consider every service user as my late mother. Therefore, I give myself as mission to make sure that people who care for them provide them with the same kind of services my mother was fortunate to receive.
