Summary
Having trained as a journalist, I have worked as a copywriter and editor for more than 15 years. I began in-house with one of the leading luxury hotel and interiors writers, Herbert Ypma at HIP Hotels, before heading to the UK’s largest spa booking agency, Spabreaks.com, with whom I still work. I also spent time with one of London’s leading content marketing and consumer publishing agencies, The River Group, where I looked after Honda’s online magazine, and digital content for The Ramblers.
The pivotal role in my career to date has been with Spabreaks.com, who helped me lay the foundation for my freelance work, by facilitating a rolling contract in 2014 which remains today. I have edited their blog, as well as content across the website for 15 years. That role has also given me the opportunity to work with other industry leaders including Sue Harmsworth at the SATCC.
From there I have been able to build a number of fulfilling working relationships, many spanning 10 years or more, delivering regular content and content management services to brands either directly or through working with agencies. I am flexible in the way that I work, enjoying projects as well as long-term retainers. In some cases that work has led to a wider role within the marketing team.
Brands I currently work with include, but are not limited to, Spabreaks.com (Europe’s largest spa booking agency), The Good Hotel Guide, Canary Wharf Group (B2B and B2C content), Rivers Finance Group, Unity Online (digital marketing agency) and Blueprint Sports (digital marketing agency).
Within those, my work spans a variety of projects and platforms, with content for print and online. For example: blogs, brochures, marketing materials, social media, outreach, LinkedIn, ghost writing director interviews, PR and awards entries). This scope of work allows me to facilitate strong, authentic, and consistent tone of voice and messaging across platforms that's both commercially relevant and that has editorial integrity.
