“Anim8te have taken over our whole-school ICT from 2016, following an opportunity for us to change from the traditional model of a school appointed network manager with one or more ICT technicians.
This change has been an exciting and interesting development for the school. Having an IT business run our services has had more benefits than we anticipated; schools can be isolated from the dynamism of the commercial world, and bringing this in has been stimulating as well as challenging in the best sense.
Anim8te is run by two entrepreneurial Directors. Between them they have a wealth of expertise, beyond IT into supporting energy and wider infrastructure. They have delivered an effective and efficient service by hiring young IT professionals, building up their skills base so that they now have a good pool of IT technicians and higher level IT staff. From having something of a mess, Anim8te has resolved and streamlined our operating approach, as well as offering advice and guidance on website use, using communications effectively, and how to transform the school into an IT-rich platform.
The biggest success has been the drive to train and appoint apprentices to the school and to the Anim8te IT team. With commendable determination the Directors have committed to the national apprenticeship training scheme, and now have a well trained set of staff. This means that young people are being given the opportunity to train to work in schools at the ground level, with excellent support. Anim8te is steadily growing and we have a positive sense of being part now of a wider group of Anim8te schools. Finally, the accountability is clear; this is a higher level service agreement to deliver to a standard, and it is simple- it is delivered and more!”
