There are a lot of reasons why Sustainable clothing is important. The environmental impacts are lessened. Workers have better job security. We're able to create beautiful clothes without depleting the earth's resources. In short, it's the responsible thing to do.
So, what are some of the benefits of making and buying sustainable clothing?

First, water conservation saves the planet from drought and from over-watering. Drought is when there is too much rainfall or too much rain that the rivers and lakes run low. Too much water makes the toilets fill up with sewage and pollutes the air. By making clothes that can withstand these kinds of conditions, we save the earth.

Second, the clothing made from sustainable clothing is better for the wearer. Studies show that the carbon footprint we make is reduced because of clothing that is breathable, lightweight, and durable. These clothes don't hold in moisture, so they are better for the environment.

Third, clothes made from recycled materials help us conserve water. The average person flushes at least ten times a day to remove all the water inside the toilet, sink, etc. If you don't, you are using at least five liters of water just to flush the toilet every day. This is way more than what we consume through drinking and cooking.

Fourth, clothing acts as an energy and heatifier. This means, it absorbs the sun's heat and gives back its heat. Clothes absorb the sun's heat during the day and gradually release it at night. During winter, the temperature is colder because the sun is shining on the clothing, and in summer, the clothes absorbs and gives back the heat from the sun.

Fifth, clothing acts as a protection against environmental pollution. When we wear clothing, we can avoid dirt and harmful particles entering our body through our skin. The fibers of the cloth trap dust and dirt. Furthermore, if we don't wash our clothing well, there will be residues left behind which can make our body absorb chemicals through our skin.

Sixth, clothing helps us feel good about ourselves. It is very uncomfortable to sit in cold weather and wear a heavy coat. Some people even get sicknesses because of this. By wearing light clothing, you can stay comfortable even in the coldest days. Also, by cutting down on your carbon footprint, you become a role model to many other people who are concerned about the environment.

Seven, clothing creates bonds between people. When we are dressed up well, we tend to feel good about ourselves. It's good for our morale. People with career and family bonding experiences tend to have a positive impact on others. So, the reasons why it is important to wear sustainable clothing are many.
