Have you written down where you plan to be in your career in 1 year, 2 years and 5 year’s time? If you have then I commend you, if not then I urge you to put pen to paper.
No one else can do this for you, but if you don’t do it your career is likely to lapse into a comfort zone with zero growth: you will relax into complacency and relinquish control of your career to others, in particular to your line manager or others in your company.
But reflect on the following: these people do not have your best interests at heart, they have their own. They don’t have your well-being in mind, they have their own. They are not concerned about looking after you or your family, they have their own. #proteuscareermanagement #ambition
