An interviewee's attitude is subtly evidenced far more by their vocal intonation and inflection, facial expressions and body language than by their qualifications.
If the attitude and temperament displayed imply quiet confidence and a sensitive resilience combined with determination and enthusiasm it will say a lot about their ability to "fit in" and to contribute.
Clearly this is yet another topic to discuss with your mentor or coach.
