Summary
I have operated my own businesses since 1982, spending over 20 years in the electronic security industry involved with the installation of a wide range of systems including Access Control, Closed Circuit Television, Electronic Data Security and Anti-Pilferage systems – interesting work which took me across the UK and beyond.
Fancying a change of direction I withdrew from the security industry in 2002, having spent the last few years as a consultant and project manager involved in high technology electronic installations within the retail sector.
My other business interests have included engineering (design and manufacture of kit-cars and related products), leisure, communications, property refurbishment and property sales.
Since 2000 I have practiced as a consultant to SME’s, assisting them to identify trading issues and trading losses and, in many cases, assist with business turnaround.
In 2011 I gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Turnaround at Liverpool John Moores University. This qualification provides Business Turnaround Practitioners with essential credibility and industry regulation.
I have good working relationships with other specialist consultants working in areas including financial management, marketing and business strategy: a team of consultants working towards a common goal can make an immense difference to the success of a business.
I have a passion for small businesses. I deliver a range of courses, workshops and 1-2-1 assistance to those wishing to establish or grow a business and assist students within their learning environment by delivering sessions on specific topics or short courses that cover business start-up and business operations.
