Summary
A strong believer in UK manufacturing, Meirion has had the privilege to work closely with a diverse range of suppliers, providing genuinely world leading and cost effective products. It is his belief that the manufacturing base in the UK is capable of providing many more success stories, if it is connected effectively with new customers. His company, Eleven Ten Design, is currently providing design expertise to companies in the North West. Meirion has been involved in technology led companies for his whole career and having worked in the rail, aerospace, defence and nuclear industries, has seen the application of engineering in many guises. He advocates the fusion of traditional engineering values and practices, with new technologies which are quietly revolutionising manufacturing.
Expertise
The process of good design is always to minimise designer bias and to ensure the requirements are very clearly and carefully stated. From this starting point it is possible to gain the greatest benefit from the available tools. A background in one of the most technically challenging areas of UK design (gas turbine design) has given Meirion significant depth in engineering problem solving ability. It is important to note that, in this industry cost and delivery are just as critical to success as other performance metrics. He has been called upon to develop test regimes for new product introduction, validate and de-risk new material systems and has helped suppliers globally (USA, France, Germany, China) to deliver product to deadlines. Understanding the principles of innovative design, has allowed him to use his skills to great effect in a wide range of industries. Meirion continues to be amazed and intrigued by the world, and the opportunities to make things better.

Interests and Hobbies
Outside design Meirion has simple interests. Like many other engineers, he is fascinated by bicycles of all types and rides off-road whenever he gets the chance. He has a long held love of mountains and is currently trying to combine to favourite pass times, mountaineering and skiing. Meirion is also a keen photographer.
