My name is Nick Claxton
I have over 40 years’ experience in senior leadership roles within the Healthcare diagnostic biotech sectors.
Increased sales year on year. Delivered £32m with 12% growth in one of my corporate roles, from launch to £12m in 3 years for a start up company, 100% year on year growth with another.
All work has been in AIM listed and VC backed companies within the regulated In Vitro Diagnostic market.
I successfully led the UK divestiture of a large corporate without loss of staff or customers.
I’m known for scaling companies from start-up, building formidable commercial teams and global distributor networks.
I’m currently an NED for a biotech company and am a board director for a light aircraft ownership group. My style is friendly, inclusive, but I question and challenge strategic direction from a commercial viewpoint. I work well when there’s honesty, integrity and trust.
I have reported directly to and advised boards on the commercial aspects of their companies, and I have chaired numerous boards of senior managers, steering groups, and committees.
I create strong working relationships with all levels within a company, especially complex stakeholders, to help problem solve.
I set strategy, coach and mentor senior managers in their commercial roles and help raising funds.
I have capacity for two more paid NED roles, either within my current sector or in a completely different sector.
A bit about me, I am a private pilot (hence the board role in the light aircraft ownership group) and I have a share in a plane as well as skippering a sports cruiser boat.
