  • Eventus Environmental

    Director
    1 - 5 Employees 2012 - Current
Providing ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) consultancy support to a range of clients from office based organisations to heavy industry, as well conducting legal compliance reviews and second party audits. In addition to EMS support, I have experience in developing procedures and implementation plans for ISO 50001 and OHSAS 18001. I am a registered trainer with IEMA & CIWM and regularly deliver training courses on ISO 14001, BS 8555 phases 1-5, the environment and waste management. I work directly for clients presently covering the aeronautical, charity, chemical, construction, legal, marine and pharmaceutical sectors as well as on funded projects which have recently included: CO2Sense EMS Project- Working with three printing companies to help them to implement an EMS (one to ISO 14001 and two to BS 8555 Phases 1-3). The project was ERDF funded and specifically aimed at small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Yorkshire & Humber region. CO2Sense Resource Efficiency Project Working on a second funded project that ran concurrently with the EMS project, delivering resource efficiency reviews to SMEs in the same region.
  • Groundwork Merseyside

    Environmental Advisor
    21 - 100 Employees 2009 - 2012
Conducting energy, waste and water reviews for Merseyside clients from the pharmaceuticals, chemicals, construction, automotive and transport industries. The programme was publicly funded and required the writing of detailed reports including cost savings and environmental savings (water, CO2, waste diverted from landfill).
  • White Young Green (WYG) Environmental

    EMS Consultant
    100+ Employees 2007 - 2008
I worked on a number of environmental management and waste projects which included: EMDA Project- Delivering a project that helped 50 SMEs in the East Midlands to implement environmental management systems. The systems were implemented using the BS 8555 route and helped the businesses to improve their waste practices, energy efficiency and achieve significant cost savings. BREW Project- Working on the delivery, materials development, training and auditing for sector specific programmes. The work was designed to help businesses in the ceramics, glass and glazing, shipbuilding, construction and catering equipment sectors to implement environmental management systems. The programme was supported by the relevant trade associations and took companies through to the phased BS 8555 approach to Phase 5; many of those taking part continued on to achieve ISO 14001 certification. SOGE Projects- Working with the Tribunals Service to help them to achieve the Sustainable Operations on the Government Estate (SOGE) targets. The work included general environmental training for staff and the development of monitoring tools to enable the departments to track their energy, water, transport use and biodiversity. SEEDA HTA Project- Working on the delivery of a waste project on behalf of the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA). The aim was to minimise horticultural waste through promoting a reduction in unnecessary packaging and close ‘the loop’ which existed between packaging producers and growers, growers and sellers, and sellers and end users. The work included on-site waste audits for several nurseries and garden centres and the formulation of a regional strategy for tackling horticultural waste.
