Area of Expertise
Having trained and qualified as a technical engineer, and when the Health & Safety Act (1974) became prominent, I became a Lay Trade Union Official (1977) for the AEU (Engineering Union) as a Safety Representative, and 15 years as a Senior Safety Representative, until I set up my company S W Support Services, in 2003.
As a Qualified tutor, gained Certificate in Education from Greenwich University and having over 35 years Experience, Knowledge and Skill, I have expertise in ‘Health & Safety’ issues as follows:
Lecturer for H & S: on behalf of Ruskin College in Oxford and Northern College at Barnsley.
Conducted H & S Reviews, H & S Audits, H & S Risk Assessments.
Written Reports for work related injuries and Industrial Diseases.
Employee and Management Training: in line with HSG 65 Management of Health & Safety.
Lectures and Course writing and Delivery, for Health & Safety, Assessed and Accredited by IOSH and ROSPA (With understanding of 1974 H&S at work regulations, 1999, PUWER, LOLA, CDM’s Working at Heights and COSHH.)

For Nineteen years I was a Governor and Chair of the Audit committee of Blackburn College.
I am Chair to the board of Directors for the 'Orvia Group' and 'Lancashire Enterprise' (Providing suppport for start up businesses and property management.)
I am a consultant for 'Albion Training' which is a National Training Provider being launched this year 2014.
I have volunnteered my time to tutor students with 'Education & Young Enterprise' encouraging them with imaginative business experiences.
I am a keen fell walker.
At home I enjoy cooking, but also dining out.
I also like to travel.
