Summary
Hi, I’m Lou, founder of Toucan HR Consulting. I created Toucan to support business owners with people matters they don’t always have the time, confidence or headspace to manage — offering HR support that keeps your people at heart, is right for everyone involved and commercially sound.
I’m an experienced HR generalist with 17 years’ experience, supporting organisations across the full employee lifecycle. I hold a law degree alongside a Level 7 CIPD qualification in HR Management, allowing me to combine strong technical and legal knowledge with a warm, practical approach to HR.
I work closely with business owners and leaders, taking the time to really understand their business, their people and their culture. This means the advice I give is always bespoke, proportionate and aligned to how your organisation actually operates, not a one-size-fits-all solution.
My support covers all aspects of employee relations, including grievances, investigations, disciplinaries, probation reviews, performance management, restructures, redundancies and staff exits. I’m also there when you simply need to talk through an issue you’re unsure about, offering calm, clear guidance to help you decide the best next step.
I’m known for being warm, approachable and easy to talk to.
